Dear Sir, The Notification No. 2/2011 dated. 1st March, 2011. In the aforesaid notification rate of excise duty will be 5% for all goods falling under sub-heading 8601 to 8606. But as per tariff the rate is 10% for Railway Wagon falling under sub-heading 8606. Please advice us what is the applicable rate of excise duty for private parties. Regards, Sandip Mukherjee
