Smart Kundassery is presently pursuing Ph. D. In Planetary Science at Cochin University of Science and Technology. He is deeply interested in ‘ancient Indian contribution to science, engineering and technology’. Observational astronomy is his desire and evolution of planetary atmospheres his passion, and strives to evolve an approach to understanding life in extreme environments, especially in the planets of the solar system, other than Earth. His research interests involve investigation of planetary oceans in the solar system. He was part of the Scientific Objective Group of Chandrayaan-1 Mission. As an active environmentalist, and proponent of river literacy through RiverineGiS (http://orgin.in/riverinegis.html).
