Sunny Deol’s ‘Border’ has maintained a cult status over the years since its release. Based on the 1971 India-Pakistan war, the war drama depicts the true events that took place at that time. Besides Sunny, the film’s cast included Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, and Akshaye Khanna among others.

Shershaah

The biographical war film is based on the life of Captain Vikram Batra, who laid down his life during the Kargil War. It showcases Batra’s courage and sacrifice, bringing to the fore another true story of a braveheart who contributed to India. Actor Sidharth Malhotra played the titular role, while Kiara Advani was seen as his love interest.

Vicky Kaushal starrer Uri: The Surgical Strike revolves around the real-life attack carried out by the Indian Army against a terrorist attack. The story as well as the slogan “How’s the josh?” resonated deeply with the audiences, fostering national pride.

The Legend of Bhagat Singh

Ajay Devgn had the “lifetime” opportunity of playing revolutionary freedom fighter Shaheed Bhagat Singh in this film. It came out in 2002, bringing the story of Bhagat Singh and his fight for Indian independence. His immortal slogan ‘Inquilab Zindabad’ became the undertone of the country’s freedom struggle.

Raazi


Directed by Meghna Gulzar, Raazi tells the gripping story of an Indian spy, who was married into the Pakistani military family in the wake of the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War. Alia Bhatt essayed the lead role as Sehmat Singh, while Vicky Kaushal was seen as Iqbal Syed, a Pakistani army officer.
