Budget Highlights 2014-15

Government restructured the Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSSs) from BE 2014-15 (Plan). Accordingly, 126 CSSs have been restructured in 66 schemes which include 17 flagship programmes. In BE 2014-15, funds have been provided under these schemes as Additional Central Assistance to State Plan. A much higher allocation of Rs.3,38,562 crore in State Plan 2014-15 against BE 2014-15 of Rs.1,36,254 crore in BE 2013-14 reflects this change.

Rural Development :

Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme: 34000 for providing a legal guarantee of 100 days of wage employment in a financial year to rural households.
Aajeevika (National Rural Livelihood Mission):  4000 for providing assistance to rural BPL households for construction of houses and upgradation of kutcha houses under Indira Awaas Yojana. 60% of the total allocation is for construction of houses for BPL families of SCs/STs.
Rural Housing: 16000 for providing assistance to rural BPL households for construction of houses and upgradation of kutcha houses under Indira Awaas Yojana. 60% of the total allocation is for construction of houses for BPL families of SCs/STs
Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana: 13000 for providing connectivity to eligible unconnected rural habitations through good all-weather roads. The systematic upgradation of existing rural roads is also an essential component of the scheme.
National Social Assistance Programme: 10635 for ensuring minimum national standard for social assistance to poor in addition to the benefits that
States are providing.

Drinking Water Supply :

National Rural Drinking Water Programme: 11000 for supplementing the States in their effort to provide safe and adequate drinking water to all rural habitations.
Rural Sanitation: 4260 for rural sanitation.

Land Resources :

3500 for Integrated Watershed Management Programme.

Agriculture and Cooperation :

9864 for Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (State Plan).
2200 for National Food Security Mission.
2200 for Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture.
1898 for National Mission for Sustainable Agriculture.

Environment and Forests :

665 for Ecology and Environment and National River Conservation.

School Education And Literacy :

27635 for Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan
13152 for National Programme of Mid Day Meals in Schools.
4965 for Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan.

Higher Education :

2200 for Rashtriya Uchha Shiksha Abhiyan.

Women and Child Development :

18691 for Integrated Child Development Services.
725 for Rajiv Gandhi Scheme for Empowerment of Adolescent Girls (SABLA).
715 for National Mission for Empowerment of Women including Indira Gandhi Matritva Sahyog Yojana and SAAHAS.
400 for Integrated Child Protection Scheme.

Information Technology :

800 for National e-Governance Action Plan.

Urban Development :

7060 for the scheme of JnNURM.

Textiles :

292 for National Handloom Development Programme.

Social Justice and Empowerment :

2348 for scheme for development of Scheduled Castes

Tribal Affairs :  

2517 for Block Grants.

Development of North Eastern Region :

950 for Non Lapsable Central Pool of Resources

Minority Affairs :

1242 for Multi-Sectoral Development Programmes

Panchayati Raj :

1006 for Rajiv Gandhi Panchayat Sashaktikaran Abhiyan.

Fertilisers :

133.68 lakh MT of Nitrogenous Fertiliser production targeted
49.49 lakh MT of Phosphatic Fertiliser production targeted.

Coal and Lignite: 

638 million tones of domestic production of Coal has been estimated during 2014-15, which is projected to be met from Coal India Limited and others.
25.60 million tones of Lignite production estimated during 2014-15

Steel :
29.00 million tonnes of Iron ore production targeted by National Mineral Development Corporation Ltd.
17.95 million tonnes of saleable steel production by Steel Authority of India Ltd. and Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd.targeted.

New And Renewable Energy : 
4500 MW Grid-interactive Power capacity addition from wind,small hydro, biomass power/cogeneration, urban and industrial waste to energy and solar power.
1.20 lakh - construction of family type Biogas plants.
