Air :

Amritsar International Airport known as Raja Sansi International Airport (ATQ/ VIAR) is located about 11km from the city centre. The airport has an international and a domestic terminal and it handles about 100 commercial flights a week. The major airlines operates from here are Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan (for Europe, Central Asia, North America), Singapore, Jet Airways, Air India and Kingfisher.

Rail :
Amritsar Junction railway station (ASR), a major railhead of the northern railways, is connected with Delhi, Calcutta, Bombay, Varanasi, Wagah (Attari Border) and other major Indian cities by several express and mail trains from various parts of the country. Some of the important trains that passes through the station are Amritsar - Katihar Express, New Delhi Express, Howrah Express, Shatabdi Express etc.

Road :
The city, located on the historic Grand Trunk Road or G.T Road or National Highway 1 (NH 1), is very well connected to the road network. Amritsar bus terminal is located about 3kms from the railway station and there is daily bus services to and from Ambala, Chandigarh, Delhi, Ferozepur, Jammu etc. Some of the road distances are as follows:- Jammu 216 kms, Ferozepur 160 kms, Chandigarh 235 kms, Delhi 435 kms and Wagah 29 kms. For local transportation within the city, cycle rickshaws, autorickshaws and taxis are available.
