Deoguradia, a small picturesque village situated 8 km from Indore on Nemawar
Road, is an ideal tourist spot specially for trekking. The major attraction
here is the 7th century old monolithic
rock temple which was rebuilt in 18th century by Ahilya Bai Holkar.
The temple has a water outlet in the form of Gomukh which is also called
as Garuda Tirth and from the outlet water flows out almost as in abhishek
to the Gods. The original shivalinga is placed 12 feet under water in
a sunken temple above which the present temple is built. A three day long
fair is conducted annually on Shivaratri day (mid Febrauary) to honour
the deity shri Gutkeshwar Mahadeo, an avatar of Lord Shiva.
