Tadoba National Park/ Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve
 

Tadoba National Park, situated 45 km north of the nearest town Tadoba and about 140 kms south of Nagpur in Chandrapur district, is the oldest national park in Maharashtra and one among the 28 Project Tiger Reserve since 1993. Tadoba also known as 'the Jewel of Vidarbha' derived its name from 'Taru', the local deity of the inhabitants Gond tribal. Sprawl over an area of 623 sq kms, the national park consists of two forest rectangles of Tadoba and Andhari range. Tadoba National Park has 120 sq km area of rich deciduous forest populated with Sal, Ain, Tendu, Mahua, Haldu, Semal, Mango and Bamboo. The wild life in the park consists of around 50 tigers along with several troops of langur monkeys, Panthers, Cheetahs, Bisons, Gaur, Chausingha, Sloth Bears, Hyenas, Jackals, Wild Dogs, Wild boars, Blue Bulls, Nilgai, Sambar, Flying Squirrels, Hyaena, Jackal, Barking Deers, etc. Tadoba National Park also an ornithologist's paradise with a varied diversity of Migratory birds and Water Birds. There is an artificial lake within the park with marsh crocodiles and some water birds including cattle egrets, purple moorhens and jacanas. 

For the visitors, Tadoba national park offers elephant safari, bird watching, nature trips and jungle safari. A 12-seater minibus is available at Tadoba for jungle safari. The park is open throughout the year from 6.00 am to 11.00 am and 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm, except on Tuesdays. November to June is the best season for a visit.

Andhari Wild Life Sanctuary, Ramdegi Temple, The Mahalaxmi temple and the Sain temple at Bhadravati are some among the nearby attractions of Tadoba National Park.
