Kottayi is a tiny village, situated at a distance of 15kms away from Palakkad. It is the native place of the famous Carnatic singer Chembai Vaidyanatha Bhagavatar. Every year in the month of February-March the 'Chembai Parthasarathy Ekadasi Music festival' is held here in memory to this great doyen of Carnatic music.
