Ranchi hill is situated about 2 km from Albert Ekka Chowk on the Ratu
Road in Ranchi at an altitude of 2,140 ft above sea level. The main attraction
of the hill is the Shiva Temple or the Pahari Mandir at its top. Large
number of people visit this place during the month of Shravan to attend
the Shravan Mela as same as that of Baidynath Dham at Deoghar, and also
during Mahashivaratri. The place is not only a pilgrim center but
also has developed into a popular health and holiday resort . One can
have fantastic views of the city from the top of the hill. The greenery
around especially during rainy season, and the Ranchi lake at the base
makes it an attractive place. Before visiting the temple most of the pilgrims
take a dip in the waters of the Ranchi Lake.
