Volvo’s Construction Team Arrives

Construction of Volvo Pavailion  started in the  Race Village.  De Boer, The leading international temporary structure supplier is providing two specially prepared VIP hospitality pavilions for the main sponsor Volvo that will follow the race around the world. Team from De Boer had already reached Cochin.

The Volvo Ocean Race, which set off from Alicante on October 4, is to visit 11 international ports and will last until the end of June 2009 when the teams cross the finishing line in St. Petersburg.

Ahead of the race, a team from De Boer will travel to each of the stopover ports to erect its popular Emperor structure as a hospitality pavilion for Volvo. The unique temporary structure consists of wooden and aluminium elements.

Exhibition will strart on 2nd Decemeber. Exhibition is from 11 AM to 10 PM. When yachts reaches Cochin General Public will be allowed free entry in to the Race Village. Schools and educational institutions wanting to bring their students for conducted tours to the Race Village may contact the Port officers at phone No.94477 59018 or email at - visit@cochinoceanrace.com for facilitation.

The Volvo Ocean Race 2008-09 will be the 10th running of this ocean marathon. Spanning some 37,000 nautical miles, stopping at 11 ports and taking nine months to complete, the Volvo Ocean Race is the world's premier yacht race for professional racing crews.
