Wayanad

Wayanad is known for its lovely mist clad hill stations, sprawling spice plantations, luxuriant forests and rich cultural traditions. Hidden away in the hills of this land are some of the oldest tribes of people.   

Thirunelly Temple

This temple  is situated 49Kms away from Mananthavady.  It is surrounded by Kambamala, Karimala and varadiga.  The Thirunelly temple is a marvel in temple architecture.  The shrine is shielded with 30 granite columns and the ground is paved with huge  square pieces of granite.

Pazhassi Tomb

This memorial of the 'Lion of Kerala' - The Veera Pazhassi Raja, who organised the guerilla pattern of warfare against the British East Indian company is 32 Km northeast of Kalpetta.

Pakshipathalam

This place can be accessed only by trekking.  Rare species of birds can be sighted from the watch tower of this bird sanctuary.

Chembra Peak

This peak is 4 Km west of Kalpetta and 2100 meters above sea level. Chembra is the highest peak in Wayanad and is an ideal area for trekking.
