Shitala temple is situated at Shitala Ghat which is on the southern part of Dashasvamedh Ghat. The white coloured temple is dedicated to Shitala, the goddess of smallpox. It is believed that Shitala devi protect the devotees from chickenpox and smallpox. Only Hindus are allowed here which remains opens from 5am to 11pm. A shrine dedicated to Santhoshi Matha, the Mother of pleasure is also added to this temple.
