Maa Vaishno Devi Temple, situated about 3kms from the city center adjacent to Indira Gandhi park on the top of the Durgapur hill, is a replica of original Vaishno Devi temple of Jammu. Constructed in the year 2003, Vaishno Devi temple houses beautiful idols of presiding deities namely Goddess Kali, Goddess Lakshmi and Goddess Saraswati. Every year on 6th February, a festival termed 'The Avirvav Day' is observed here with great joy.

The temple is located in a scenic surrounding and a near by cave attracts lot of tourist to this place. From here, one can have a picturesque view of Rourkela township. Another temple named Badrinath Temple is also located near to the Vaishno Devi temple.
