Mumbai zoo is a part of Veermata Jijabai Bhonsle Udyan Botanical Garden. There are tigers, lions, elephants, bears and monkeys. Inside the Zoo's triple arched Italianate gateway is the bronze statue of Edward VII astride a black horse. Nearby is a plant house with a skeletal iron framework and a wooden lattice skin. 
The zoo is open daily between 9am and 6pm but is is closed on Wednesdays.
