The ancient Manarcad Sree Bhagavathy Temple, where the main deity is Goddess
Bhadrakali is at a distance of about 10 km east of Kottayam. The Kumbha
Bharani alias Kumbhamkudam (dancing with pots on heads) festival of the
temple, attracts thousands of devotees. Other main events celebrated here
are Kalamezbuthupattu, Meena bharani, Pathm udayam and Mandalam
chirappu. Pathinonnu Garudan, Kalamkarikkal, Nadaguruthi, Chuttuvilakku,
Thulabharam etc are some among the major offerings in the temple.
