Dharma Sastha Temple, devoted to Lord Ayyappa, is situated in Pakkil about 3 km from Kottayam. This is one of the eight temples established by Parasurama, the legendary founder of Kerala. An annual fair of household articles known as Sankranti Vanibhyam, held during the month of June/ July draw huge throng.
