The cathedral, established in 1002 AD, is located in Pala about 39 Km
from Kottayam town. It was destroyed by Muslim invaders and was reconstructed
after the 17th century A.D. The important festival of this church is the
Rakkulithirunal which is celebrated on 6th January. The festival symbolizes
the Biblical account of the three Wiseman from East who left for Bethlehem
to adore infant Jesus.
