Rail: The Kollam railway
station is well connected to all the main cities in Kerala It is an important
railhead of the southern railways and all the Trivandrum-ernakulam (via
Kottayam and Alappuzha) pass through Kollam railway station.Railway station
is 3 km away from the KSRTC bus stand, at Chinnakkada. A tourist information
counter offers service in the station.

Road: Kollam Bus Station is situated in the heart of
Kollam city, on the banks of the Ashtamudi Lake. An excellent road network
links Kollam to all major towns and cities in Kerala. KSRTC operates Deluxe,
Express and Fast Passenger buses connecting important towns in the state.

Water: Water transportation is a peculiarity of Kollam.
There is a daily service to Alappuzha through the backwaters. The ferry
station is adjacent to the central bus station (3 km from the railway
station). Ferry services are operated from Kerala State Water Transport
Corporation boat jetty near KSRTC Central Bus Station, Kollam to various
islands in the Astamudi backwaters. Tourist boat services are also operated
between Kollam and Alappuzha during season. |
