Q Sir, I want to pursue Btech in mechanical engineering. But people around me usually tells that it is a men oriented branch and not suitable for girls. Is this correct. If no then which are the companies taking ME at a good salary.

Hello Hemashree
It is partially true that working in some industries, as a Mechanical engineer, is sometimes not suitable for woman. This is due to physically demanding tasks (eg. in oil and gas industry) that may difficult for a woman to achieve ( this is not true always). But, there are plenty of other areas (eg. designing and industrialization in automobile industry) that one can utilize her creativity and skills irrespective of physical constrains. What I would suggest you to focus on less physically demanding ares in Mech-Eng and conduct projects and internships in that particular field. Please, dont always stick on with Indian job market. There are many opportunities available around the globe.
Go and Chase Your Dream and Become a Role Model for Other Women in India.
Best regards
