Q I would like to know the eligibility for being Quality Inspector in Merchant Navy and what is the career and remuneration and some more ragarding quality inspector in merchant navy.

Hi Rupesh i am student of XIth in above address.I can ex plane you what qualification and eligibility to go in merchant navy:- Merchant Navy - Remuneration and Benefits Merchant Navy is one of the few careers where the salary is relatively high. The pay is definitely different from company to company, depending on the city, country, export and import needs, seniority etc. The minimum salary for TS Chanakya or MERI graduates is generally in the range of Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 15,000 per month. Foreign companies (especially those from Western Europe, USA and the Gulf) are quite high - around $600 to $6000 per month. Captains are usually paid the maximum of Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 1,00,000 per month. Every officer and crew member are entitled to have 75% of their net earning in foreign exchange, if their vessel is carrying foreign cargo. They are allowed 4-months leave every year. Items like imported liquor, cigarettes, canned food, cosmetics etc. are all duty-free on board. All crew and officers are given free meals on board. Some officers are permitted to bring their wives along for the voyages. Indian Navy Physical Requirements Applications are invited from unmarried candidates who fulfill eligibility condition of Nationality as laid down by the Government of India for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in Technical/Executive Branches of theIndian Navy under University Entry Scheme (UES), for course commencing July 2011. Short Service Commission (SSC) Officers Age Limit: 19 to 24 years (i.e. born between 02 Jul 1987 to 01 Jul 1992, (both dates inclusive). Pay Scale: PB-3 Rs.15600-39100 Grade Pay Rs.5400 and MSP Rs.6000. Educational Qualifications: A Science Graduate with Physics & Mathematics with minimum 60% marks from a recognized university. BE/B.Tech. with min. 60% marks in aggregate in any discipline Selection Procedure: Short listed candidates will be called for Campus Interview at their own expense at centres as notified by IHQ-MoD (Navy)/Command Headquarters. Indian Navy Physical Requirements Physical standards: Height and Weight:157cms Eyesight: 6/24, 6/24 correctable to 6/6 in each eye with glassess.Candidate should not be color/night blind. Note: Short Service Commission is granted for a term of 10 years, extendable to 14 years, subject to service requirements and performance/ willingness of the candidate. Selection process: Short listed candidates will be called for Service Selection Board (SSB) interviews& Medical Test SSB interviews for Short-listed candidates will be scheduled during 2011 Aug-Nov at Bangalore, Bhopal or Coimbatore.
