I appreciate your interest to do a project in nanotechnology. Nanomaterials (metal/metal oxide nanoparticles, quantum dots, graphene, carbon nanoubes etc.) have many potential and exciting applications in bio-medicine especially in the area of drug delivery, cancer therapy, diagnostics, biological labelling, tissue engineering and molecular biology. One of the interesting project area could be the bio-medical applications of magnetic nanoparticles. Magnetic nanoparticles are of special interest for biomedical applications because of their unique magnetic properties and comparable size to biologically important object. Their ability to respond to an external magnetic field allow tagging and detection of biomolecules magnetically. They find exciting applications in bio-separation, bio-detection, magnetic resonance imaging, magnetic fluid hyperthermia and targeted drug delivery. Recently, there have been an increased interest on carbon nanotubes and graphene for various biomedical applications. You can chose any one of the above mentioned topics as per your interest. Best option is to choose one of the IITs for your Bachelors project. Almost all the IITs have dynamic research groups in nanoscience (Check-out the Chemistry and Physics Departments, IIT Madras).
