Agricultural Engineering deals with a combination of agricultural science and engineering disciplines like Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering. It includes development of technologies of soil conservation, soil longevity, agricultural machineries, bioresources, livestock production and protection etc.

Genetic engineering is a part of biotechnology. It actually deals with modification of genome systems of animals/plants for developing more profitable seeds/species with higher yield of crops/pest resistance/immune power etc. You may find some of the applications of genetic engineering in agricultural science as well.

Both these branches have job opportunities in India and abroad in public and private sector. There are pharmaceutical and biotechnological industries looking for genetic engineers around the world. Similarly, industries who make agricultural machineries and provide expert advice to farmers require Agricultural Engineers.
