The 71st National Awards ceremony was held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on Tuesday. The award ceremony marked a historic moment as actor Shah Rukh Khan won his first National Award after a three-decade career in the Bollywood industry.

Mohanlal was conferred with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award, making him the second artist from the Malayalam industry to be bestowed with this honour. Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan was conferred with his first Best Actor National Award by President Droupadi Murmu at the 71st National Awards ceremony at Vigyan Bhawan. The Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji was honoured with the Best Actress National Award for her role in 'Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway' released in 2023. The actress looked elegant in a brown saree, complementing her outfit with a silver-plated necklace, earrings and bangles. The South superstar was the highlight of the 71st National Awards ceremony after he was honoured with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award from President Droupadi Murmu for his iconic contribution to Indian cinema. Vikrant Massey also won the National Award in the Best Actor category for his performance in the film '12th Fail'. It was directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Filmmaker Karan Johar attended the 71st National Film Awards as his project ' Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani' bagged the National Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment on Tuesday.
