The commercial success definitely is a marketing wonder but what about the movies which aren’t able to perform well at the Box-office but were really stunning? Cinema does not end with massive collections or big movie stars because it is also about the art of storytelling. Let’s list some underrated gems of Bollywood which deserve a watch from the audience.

Masaan

The actors associated with the movie ‘Masaan’ are themselves a school of acting for cinema lovers. The film looks like poetry in motion and the kind of screenplay delivered by Varun Grover is fantastic. The movie features Pankaj Tripathi, Sanjay Mishra, Vicky Kaushal, Richa Chadha and Sweta Tripathi in important roles. Late Irrfan Khan is undoubtedly one of the best actors Indian Cinema has ever produced, adding another beauty to his filmography ‘Qarib Qarib Singlle’ will make you go aww. The story is about two people who are completely opposite falling in love. The filmography of the movie will keep you bound to your screens till the end, and as usual Irrfan’s performance will spellbind you.

The direction of Shoojit Sircar and a calm yet composed performance by Varun Dhawan are enough to make you watch this masterpiece 'October'. The film feels like a warm hug and makes us think deeply about the concept of love and life through the story of Danish.

Paan Singh Tomar


The real-life story of athlete Paan Singh Tomar and the performance by the late actor Irrfan Khan is the combination we need to dominate global cinema. The plot of story is about an Indian athlete and seven-time national steeplechase winner champion turning a dacoit in Chambal Valley. The movie digs into the life of a sportsman to narrate the hardship he has to face which made him a rebel.

Dev D
