1 | The variables affecting growth, especially weight, in this period are many. By 8 months of age, most babies weigh around 6.3 - 8.1kg, although the normal range is wider than that. After the first 12 months of life, most babies will probably have just about tripled their birth weight and will probably stand about 70-80cm (28 to 32 inches) tall. |

2 | Dear Dolly, As a mother I can very well understand your concern. But donn worry. A child might weigh less then a average child's weight, however we need to measure the child's weight with his own. If the child has been growing upto the desired mark month on month, that should be good. His doctor must have plotted his weight on a chart, that should give you good Idea of his growth. I am a mother of a 8 month old & he's just about 8kgs. He looks very skinny, however I am happy that he's active & is growing normally. P.S. You may try giving him mashed boiled potatoes with a pinch of salt. Also soooji helps in weight gain. |
