Muslim Marriage/Nikkah

Under Mulsim Law Marriage is referred to as Nikah, an Arabic term which means “the union or the sexes”. According to muslin law marriage is a civil contract. It is a contract for legalizing sexual intercourse and procreation of children. Marriage is a union of a man and women for the purpose of sexual intercourse and procreation and legitimation of children and lives in peace and tranquility according to the commandments of Allah. Allah has commanded the Muslims to marry for the Quran says: 

"And marry those among you who are single…."
A Muslim marriage is complete when other accepts an offer for marriage.

Under Muslim law husband may have as may as four wives at the same time, but not more. If he marries a fifth wife when he has already four, such marriage would be irregular. The laws that govern an Islamic marriage are the Quran and Hadith.More details >>
