Madh island is a beautiful island off the coast of Juhu, in the picturesque rural area of Mumbai's northwestern coast. One has to take a ferry from the fishing village to reach the island. Just 30 minutes ride away from the suburbs, it is a quick and peaceful getaway from the maddening crowds of the city. One could spend time strolling along the sea shore and exploring fishing villages. Though the place has a number of sandy beaches, it is not safe for swimming because of the strong currents and shifting sands. There are a number of resorts and bungalows of the upper class here.
