The unique gathering, Revathi Pattathanam takes place at Thali temple during the Malayalam month of Thulam. It is an intellectual debate for the Vedic scholars in order to win the craved position of Pattathanam. This seven-day debate starts on Revathi day and ends on Thiruvathira day of Thulam. Many stories are attributed to the beginning of the pattathanam. It is said that this word fight in one of world’s first and India’s ancient language Sanskrit commenced during the fag end of the 13th century.
