Brahmaputra Beach Festival

Brahmaputra Beach Festival is held on the sandy beaches of Brahmaputra during the spring season. The three day long festival is organised by Assam Tourism Development Corporation (ATDC) and the Assam Boat Racing & Rowing Association (ABRRA) to promote indigenous culture, crafts and popularising the traditional sports of Assam. It co-occurs with Magh Bihu, which is the harvest festival of the Assamese people. The festival has thrilling water sports and other  colourful events to cater to all age groups. Exciting adventure sports include wind surfing, rafting, canoeing, kayaking, para-dropping, hot air ballooning etc. Several cultural programmes and entertainment like elephant race and kite flying are also held. The stalls in the mela are occupied with products bearing the signs of traditional craftsmanship.
