Aman Ali the elder son and disciple of Sarod Maestro Amjad Ali Khan, initiated into the fine art of Sarod playing at a very tender age. Hailing from the Bhangash family of distinguished musicians who invented 'Sarod'- the present day modification of the ancient 'Rabab', Amaan represents the seventh generation in the family to continue the Sarod tradition. His debut abroad was in 1986 at the Festival of India in Moscow. He and his brother together and sometimes accompanied by their father have performed in various famous venues and music festivals in India and abroad such as the Symphony Hall in Fukuoka, New York’s Town Hall, Palais beaux-arts in Brussels, Esplanade in Singapore, Chicago Symphony Center, Carnegie Hall and Kennedy Center in USA etc and performed in a concert with Guitarist Derek Trucks of the Allman Brothers band at the Savannah Festival. He has also given a musical score for Oscar winning Director Roger Christian for the movie 'American Daylight'.  Amaan received Provogue Society’s Young Achievers Award for performing Arts in 2002. He also hosted "Sa Re Ga Ma", a music show on Zee TV with his brother Ayyan. Aman today has carved out a niche for himself with his precise and bold strokes, and gives individual performances in India and abroad. He released his debut album, 'Raga Puriya Kalyan' in 1998.
