Builders Expo in Kuwait from May 9

Around 50 Kerala-based builders will participate in the two-day 'Builders
Expo-2008', to be jointly organized by the city-based Pax Events and Promotors
and Asia Link Company WWL, in Kuwait from May nine.The expo aimed at bringing under one roof some of the leading construction
companies in the State for discerning customers in Kuwait and other Gulf
countries, Pax CEO Sunil Joseph told reporters here last night. It would be an
opportunity for non-Keralite residents in Kuwait and other Gulf countries to
own a house in the price range of Rs five lakh to one crore, in their home
State. Mr Joseph said more than 50,000 people were expected to visit the
various stalls and Indian Bank would provide financing facilities for
customers. The service to exhibitors included visas for two persons, food and
transportation, local transportation, approvals from the Kuwait Government and
pre-event campaign.
National Youth
Games from May 10

More than 5,000 athletes from all over the country can be seen in action in the
first National Youth Games, to be conducted in Bangalore from May 10 to 18.A
decision to conduct the Games, conceived three years back, was taken at a
meeting chaired by Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur, Indian Olympic
Association (IOA) President Suresh Kalmadi, MP, State Sports and Youth Service
Commissioner Amar Kumar Pandey, Karnataka Olympic Association President K
Govindraj present.
In a post-meeting brief, Mr Kalmadi said the Games would have
24 disciplines against 17 proposed earlier, with the inclusion of Commonwealth
Game events, including weight lifting.State should be proud to conduct such an
event and Government will extend all support for the success of the Games.Many
foreign athletes were showing interest in getting trained in India. A successful
conduct of the Games would lead to creation of infrastructure and attract
athletes from abroad.

Conference in Singapore in Aug 2008

Around 1,000 delegates from 16 countries
will participate in the sixth World Malayalee Conference in Singapore from August
22, 2008. Council General Convener Dr K Nandakumar said the three-day conference,
organised by the World Malayalee Council, would discuss the investment opportunities
in Singapore against the backdrop of India signing a free trade agreement with
that country.
''The conference will be an opportunity
for non-resident Keralites from North America, Europe, Africa, West Asia and
Australia to know more about the emerging Singapore economy,'' . The

Mart in Kochi from Sept 20

Kerala Travel Mart, India's largest buyer-seller mart to be organised in Kochi
from September 20 to 23. The KTM, a biennial event showcasing the best of Kerala,
would be organised by the Kerala Travel Mart Society with the support of the
State Tourism department. The travel mart was a perfect example of the synergy
between the public and private sector, joining hands for the promotion of
tourism in the State. 170 Indian and 65 international buyers had registered to

Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa and the US were expected.An
