Gurdwara Manji Sahib Alamgir

Gurdwara Manji Sahib Alamgir is situated at Alamgir 11 km from the industrial town of Ludhiana popularly known as Manchester of India, where Guru Gobind Singh reached in the blue robs of Pir of Uchch (muslim saint) in a palanquin carried by Bhai Daya Singh Dharam Singh and Man Singh and two Afgan brothers Ghani Khan and Nabi Khan and stayed for a few days to escape from the Mughal army and in that place he did’nt found any water to drink and so he shot an arrow into the ground and there appeared a spring. This spring has been converted into a tank known as 'Tirsar' (arrow lake). The shrine is near to this spring..It is a six-storied beautiful shrine. Guru was gifted by a horse at this place by one of his devotee Bhai Naudha in order to escape from the enemies at the time when he was staying there and then he used the horse to travel and he need not want the palanquin so he sent back the muslim brothers after showing his gratitude for their help . The Guru tied his horse in a small Phalahi tree which still stands today. Gurdwara Manji Sahib Alamgir is the famous Gurdwaras in Ludhiana . A fair is held there in every December
