A combined competitive examination will be held by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment to the Services/posts of Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering
 
 Last Date for Receipt of Applications either by hand or by Post/Speed Post or by Courier : 4th February, 2008
 Last date for receipt of applications by Post/Speed Post only (for candidates residing abroad or in certain remote localities) : 11th February, 2008
 Date of Examination : 7th June, 2008
 

Eligibility 

(a) Age Limits : The candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on the 1st August, 2008 i.e. he must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1978 and not later than 1st August, 1987. The Upper age limit is relaxable for candidates belonging to scheduled castes/scheduled tribes/ other backward classes and certain other categories.

(b) Educational Qualification : The candidate must hold a degree in Engineering or equivalent. M.Sc. degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special subject also acceptable for certain posts. A candidate who intends to appear at such a qualifying examination may also apply. Such candidates will be admitted to the examination, if otherwise eligible, but their admission would be deemed to be provisional and subject to cancellation, if they do not produce proof of having passed the requisite qualifying examination alongwith the detailed applications which will be required to be submitted by the candidates who qualify on the result of written part of the examination.

How to Apply :

The application form along with an Information Brochure containing general instructions for filling up the form, an acknowledgement card and an envelope for sending the application will be obtainable from the designated Head Post Offices/Post Offices throughout the country against cash payment of Rs. 20/- (Rupees twenty only). Form should be purchased from the designated Head Post Offices/ Post Offices only and not from any other agency. This form can be used only once and for only one examination.
