Hi,

Good that you have decided to do research on seismology. I would suggest you to study geophysics instead of geology for your bachelors in order to better pursue your interests. Most of the Indian universities have a department of applied geophysics and geology. Madras University is a good choice. Andhra University, BHU etc. all are good places for these studies. You can pursue your higher studies with a specialization in seismology or geophysics after completing a bachelors in civil engineering as well. IITs and NITs provide the course. I bet this would be a better channel for your career goal.

Regards,
Suresh
