Information given in finance report that MIS deposits in post office interest received is exempt from income tax under 80-L. whether it is not a part of income as 80-L is abolished from 2005. |

Senior Citizens Deposits in P.O. for Rs.1,00,000/- get income tax benefit under Sec.80C. But for this, the P.O.s must mark the passbooks to have been issued under tax saving scheme Sec 80C of the I.T.Act, just like banks do, to distinguish them from other deposits which can be withdrawn in a year. But they do not do so.This grave defect has to be corrected so that depositors do not lose the benefit declared by the Govt. |

When a used Vehical was purchased and insurance is not tranfered to new owner. In this case, if Vehicle theft, is new owner can claim against insurance of seller in valid time period of insurance. |

My wife and I opened an account under monthly Income Scheme in Post Office in Chennai effective March 2004. Now the 6 year term is ending in March 2010. We are indian citizens working in USA. Please let us know the procedure for getting our money back with out personally visiting India.
