Dear Mr. Chakraborty,

Environmental science and geosciences have their own advantages. It is highly contextual whether you will get equal opportunity if you study environmental science or geology. There are courses on environmental geology as well.

If you are keen studying geology/geochemistry, you can go for a masters degree in that. IISER Calcutta is a good institution for the course. You may try IITs as well. There are many premier universities in India giving Masters degree in these subjects. ISM Dhanbad is another option.

Most of the reputed universities in the Americas, Europe and Oceania provide master degrees in geosciences. The course have better job prospective in the field of mining, oil, construction, research, teaching, planetary exploration etc.

All the best.
