MET announces India’s 1st Industry endorsed PR programme Admissions Open for professional PG Diploma in PR Management In a path-breaking step towards creating industry-ready PR professionals, the MET Institute of Mass Media (MET IMM) has launched a six-month, weekend programme for graduates and executives who aspire to pursue a career in Public Relations Management. Students will acquire job oriented professional knowledge that can be immediately applied at the work place. MET’s Executive Diploma in Public Relations Management (EDPRM) has been endorsed by Public Relations Consultants Association of India (PRCAI). “MET League of Colleges has always taken leadership initiatives. As part of the industry-academia expansion programme and MET being India’s first premiere M school, it was a logical progression to introduce a professional programme in PR Management. Our research with prospects and corporates coupled with the understanding of the PR Industry showed that there is a dire need for well-trained, ready-to-be-absorbed PR professionals. So we ideated a PG programme – Executive Diploma in Public Relations Management (EDPRM), for aspirants who wish to make a mark in the PR industry. We envisage that MET’s holistic programme EDPRM will allow quality personnel to enter the PR world and thus contribute to the growth of the PR industry”, says CA. Sunil G. Karve, Founder Trustee and Vice Chairman – MET League of Colleges.
MET IMM outlined the syllabus, curriculum, prospectus, admission process, evaluation and certification system for this professional EDPRM programme, which was then reviewed and endorsed by the PRCAI. Industry professionals from PRCAI will deliver several modules for this programme at MET. At the same time various leading PR professionals from the industry will also share practical, hands-on knowledge and rich experience with the students. This will ensure that realistic industry inputs will find their way into the curriculum and teaching methodology. PRCAI decided to endorse the curriculum after studying and acknowledging that EDPRM programme attempts to go beyond the theoretical framework by providing students holistic training on the PR tools and techniques.
