With the results of Class 10th looming large on the horizon, it is time for the students to take a call on the education stream they are going to pursue. Choosing the stream is a watershed event and the decision taken now will impact the entire future lives of the students. Hence, it becomes imperative that students and parents exercise utmost care at this juncture.

TCY-NBT, also known as ‘National Benchmarking Test’, is a tool that takes the guesswork out of making this most important academic decision. The test has been developed by TCY, a company with over 12 years of experience in national and international test prep. NBT measures students on a large range of parameters and the result is given in a ‘Stream Propensity Chart’ which indicates a student’s propensity for all major education streams in percentage terms. The students who take the test also get a ‘Career Propensity Chart’ as a part of the exhaustive but simple report, which highlights their relative aptitude for ten different career streams.

Unlike Olympiads, which are geared towards finding out top performers, NBT helps students of all learning abilities choose a career path that is in sync with their in intrinsic talents. Giving feedback about the test, S.J. Gawai, Principal, Jawahar Navodya Vidyalaya, Daman says, “We are going to motivate all the students to appear in this TCY-NBT online examination so that students can analyze their strengths and weakness and improve their skill likewise. The quality of the examination is very good. This test is very much helpful to the slow learners also.”

In fact, NBT is the only test of its kind in India that has been designed specifically for the needs of Indian students. Though NBT is available for students of Classes 6th to 10th, the ‘Stream Propensity Chart’ is provided especially for Class 10th students only. So far, more than 217 schools across the nation have had their students participate in NBT.

The two hours test is divided into five sections viz., English, General Awareness, Science, Mental Ability and Mathematics. Apart from section and sub-section analysis, the report contains a micro-assessment with the answer given for each question. The responses are analyzed on parameters like time taken vs. national average, difficulty level and correct answer vs. student’s response.

About TCY: TCY has been providing test prep services for more than a decade. Currently, the company provides coaching for more than fifty categories of international and national tests. The company is also working with top international publishers like McGraw Hill (USA and Canada), Learning Today and many other brands.
