Shakti is nice young man from rural Tamilnadu who dreams of making it
big in Chennai. Off he goes with bag and baggage, and stays with his
uncle Kirikalam, who is a small-time magician. At his request, Shakti
joins him in his shows of performing card tricks, simple magic and sleight-of-hand
acts. They end up holding such a show during a local fair where they
have a stand.
Life isn't so easy when pretty Velli too has a stand right next to
them and their customers slowly but surely migrate to Velli's stand,
leaving Shakti and Kirikala,'s stan empty.
Bitter quarrels ensue, interspersed with comedy from Kirikalam. Despite
daily tiffs and fights between Shakti and Velli, there is a spark and
love is in the air...
Confusion, suddenly. The police storm the fairgrounds announcing that
they are investigating a series of crimes that happened in interior
Tamilnadu
The plot enters a series of twists and turns and suddenly we see another
Shakti, with blue-grey eyes! Only it is not Shakti... Who is this stranger,
a look-alike to happy-go-lucky and peaceful Shakti, but poles apart
from him in personality?
The remainder of the movie is heady and entertaining mix of action,
comedy, romance and mystery as Shakti tries to multi-task - make his
career, get Velli and figure out who his blue-eyed lookalike is, the
police try to solve the murder mysteries of Madurai, Thirunelveli, Trichy
and now, Chennai and Kirikalam pads through his suddenly-chaotic life
with his comedy creating a laugh-riot...
The music is a nice mix of mdoern and conservative, digital and ethnic.
Madhavan looks really good and Reema Sen and he look good together for
the first time after Minnale (except for one song in the movie Jay Jay).
