Constructive notice is the legal fiction that a person got notice even though actual notice was not personally delivered to that person. If certain procedures have been followed, the law will consider a person to legally have received notice, even if in fact they did not. The law may provide that a public notice /summons put on the courthouse bulletin board or legally advertised in an approved newspaper it is not possible to serve notice personally.
