Cut the ginger into tiny pieces and keep it in water
for an hour. Take it out of the water and boil in plenty of fresh water.
Drain and fry till crisp in 2 dsp of oil.
Fry the coconut with 2 dsp of sliced shallots till the
coconut is brown. Grind the fried coconut and the ginger to a paste. In
the oil, splutter the mustard, fenugreek and the curry leaves and then
saute the ground chilly powder.
Add the sliced shallots and the love lovi. Pour half
a cup of water and cook the love lovi. Mix the paste and jaggery in 1
cup of water and add to the curry with enough salt to taste.
Allow the curry to simmer till it is thick before it
is removed from fire.
