Mung Dal Masala Fry

Ingredients :

   
Mung Bean (greengram) - 1 ¼ cup
Water - 2-3 cups
Salt - to taste
Oil - 2-3 tbsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - 7-8
Coriander Powder - 2 tsp
Red Chilly Powder - 1 tsp
Ginger-Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
Grated Coconut - ¼ cup

Cooking Method :

To start of, first lets pressure cook Mung dal by adding water with a pinch of salt in it. Remove the cooker from the flame after 2 whistles and keep it aside.

Now lets prepare the Masala. Add 2-3 tbsp oil in a pan under medium flame and wait until it turns piping hot. Add a tsp of mustard seeds, curry leaves and let it splutter. Then add spices like ginger-garlic paste, coriander powder, red chilly powder and a little water if you think the Masala will get burnt. Finally add Grated coconut and salt and continue to sauté. Once the masala is done, add formerly cooked Mung Dal into the Pan and continue to stir-fry for 6-7 minutes.

Now Mung Dal Masala Fry is ready to serve. It is the best side dish for Wheat Roti's or steamed rice.
