Dal Palak or Dal spinach is a complete nutritious dish. Spinach is a good source of Iron and fiber where as dal is rich in Protein. Dal Palak can be made within 15 minutes and goes well as a good accompaniment with chapathis, parathas or even with rice .

Ingredients :

   
Bengal Dal - ½ cup
Palak - 1 cup
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Salt - to taste
Water - 1 glass
Oil - 2-3tbsp
Mustard seeds - ½ tsp
Dry red Chilly - 4-5
Curry leaves - 10- 15

Cooking Method :

Take water in a pan; place it on the stove on medium flame. To this you can add a tsp of turmeric powder and a tsp of salt. Add half cup of soaked Bengal dal into the vessel and also include a cup of chopped spinach. Let the Dal and spinach cook for 5-6 minutes.

Meanwhile in another pan, heat 2 tbsp of oil until it turns piping hot. To this add a half tsp of Mustard seeds, Dry red chilly and few curry leaves. Now pour the tempering over the formerly cooked Dal palak and mix well and let it to boil for few minutes. Our Dal Palak is ready to serve.

Dal Palak is very healthy and can be made within 15 minutes. It can be served as a side dish along with steamed rice, roti or Parathas.
