Mohanlal and comedy kings- Rafi & Mecartin of the Punjabi House and Tenkasi Pattanam fame are coming together for the first time in Hello, for which shooting has commenced in Ottapalam and later it will be shifted to Ootty. Parvathy Melton who did the 'Malabar Gold house' ad with Mohanlal and also a few Telugu films is the heroine.

According to the directors Rafi and Mecartin- "The story is about a man, who due to a personal tragedy becomes an alcoholic. Then he gets a call and the 'Hello' he hears, changes his life. All this is told in a humorous manner with a sentimental touch".

In the film Parvathy is the daughter of a private moneylender and Mohanlal, an advocate. Sivaraman, Mohnalal's character is a troublemaker, who is drunk most of the time. It is a treat watching Mohanlal do the drunken act. One of the highlights of the film is Jagathy Sreekumar who plays Chandy Kunju, Sivaraman's benefactor and best friend. He moves around in a Motor bike with a side car that comes handy to transport Sivaraman, when he gets drunk! Sivaraman had taken to drinking because of a tragedy in his life. After many years he receives a phone call that changes his life once again. Madhu, Siddique, Jagadhish, Madhu Warrior, Keerikkadan Jose, Spadikam George, Salim Kumar, Beeman Reghu, Rizabava, Ganesh Kumar, Suraj Venjaramoodu, and others comprise the rest of the cast.

Sanjeev Shanker wields camera for the film and for the first time teams up with Rafi Mecartin. The film which has a big cast, is the usual Rafi-Mecartin genre with plenty of comedy, twists and songs.
