Roma - the new sensation of South Indian
films, is basically from North India, but settled in Chennai. Her father
Murlidhar runs a wholesale Jewellery Shop in Chennai and mother Madhu
is helping him in his business. She started her career as a model during
her school days. She has done many Advts in Malayalam & Tamil, such
as Kalyan Sarees, Triveni notebook,Sunny Jacob Jewellers, Swadeshi Mermer,
Archana Silks etc.
She made her entry into
films with the Malayalam movie
'Notebook'
became very popular after the success of her debut film. For her performance
in 'Notebook' she was awarded Best Newcomer by film critics, Asianet tv,
Amrita tv & Kalakeralam. Her second film July 4
(2007) was a flop, but her performance in the movie was appreciated.
Her latest movie Chocolate
(2007) with Prithviraj was a big hit, and this movie is definitely a turning
point in her career. She has also acted in a Music Album by the band Team
Malayalee with popular singer Vineeth Sreenivasan and famous actor Prithviraj
for the number 'Minnel Azhake'.
She has also acted in the Telugu
movie Dr. Erra babu (2007) & tamil movie Kathale en kathale (2006).
And her debut Kannda movie is Aramane (2007) starring Ganesh in the lead.
This talented girl seems to have a promising future in the industry.
