Bhavvana- Another gift from the Malayalam film industry to South Indian films. She was born on 6th June 1986 in Peringavu in Thrissur District, Kerala to parents G. Balachandran, an assistant cameraman and Pushpa, a housewife. Her original name was Karthika, nicknamed Kaathi. She has a brother named Jaidev.  

Bhavvana's entry into the movies happened when she was in Class 11, through veteran Malayalam director Kamal's hit film 'Nammal'(2002), where she portrayed the character 'Parimalam', a girl living in a slum exceptionally well. Though she acted in a supporting role in the film, her performance and dialogue delivery catapulted her name to the list of top young stars of Malayalam industry at that time. This movie won her Kerala State's special jury award. After her debut she did several films in Malayalam and most of them were hits.

Bhavvana is a popular face in Tamil cinema also. She become a new sensation in Tamil film industry when her Tamil debut 'Chitthiram Pesudhadi' (2006) and 'Veyyil', released the same year became huge hits. She got countless offers after that and most of her Tamil movies are big hits making her star value sky-high.  

Bhavvana has a very pleasing demeanor and always wants to build up good kinship with the people around her. The young actress is now getting a shower of offers from well known directors in Malayalam as well as Tamil films. With her immense talent, Bhavvana has had a taste of success within a short span of time of her entry into films.
