Another movie on a three way relationship, a wife caught between her husband and lover....whew.

The protagonist Anjali (Kareena Kapoor) lives in Montreal with her Canadian mother ( Nafisa Ali ) and Indian father ( Kabir Bedi). She shares a great relationship with her parents but has not yet told them about her relationship with an aspiring singer Raja (Akshay Kumar). Her sister Aarti ( Sushmita Sen) comes to Canada from Delhi for her delivery. She is the wife of Aditya (Anil Kapoor), an affluent businessman in Delhi.

Aarti meets Raja and promises Anjali to present the issue to their parents when the time is right. But she passes away delivering twin babies. Anjali is forced to marry Aditya for the kids sake and she leaves for Delhi without even informing her lover.

Life in Delhi is drab for her with Aditya so immersed in his work and has no time for her. She plays the role of the wife to the tilt but to no avail. It takes an accident to make him realise things and he flies off to Germany promising to make up with his wife after coming back. But in the airport Anjali meets Raja, now successful, who's come down to Delhi for a show. Soon after, they revive their relationship. The rest of the story deals with Aditya finding out about them with an imminent ending.

The treatment of the theme is outright phony especially at this time when films like Black, Page 3 etc has tried to take our Cinema to new levels. The only relationship that shows some warmth is the one between the sisters.  Others doesn't seem to connect at all nor develop any bonds. On the surface, the film has slick sets and the cast wear designer stuff but inside it has no soul. The ending is outright predictable and unbelievable as the heroine walks out of her lovers life stating that it is impossible for a mother to betray her children when in actual fact the bond between the children and her is never shown in the movie. Music by Nadeem Shravan is ok with one or two hummable numbers..

Performances wise the actors doesn't have a chance as their characters are not well defined. Kareena looks beautiful and that's about it. Akshaye Kapoor with his new look tries to do justice to his part. Anil Kapoor is okay. Manoj Bajpai in his supposed to be comical role, as Anil's friend is extremely loathsome as well as Samitha Shetty playing his wife. Nafisa Ali and Kabir Bedi are ok though their family dance leaves much to be desired.

Overall verdict is just average, nothing more, nothing less.
