'The Bourne Supremacy' is a spy thriller that is a sequel to 2002 film 'The Bourne Identity', based on the novel by Robert Ludlum.

Jason Bourne (Matt Damon), a retired assassin of the treadstone project of the CIA and Marie Kreutz ( Franka Potente) a Berlin beauty who helped him escape his own agency and now, his dedicated companion and girlfriend, are living peacefully in a small sea side village in Goa, India. Jason suffers from amnesia and has unsettling flashes of his past assignments. Jason knew that he is in trouble and the peaceful days are over, as soon as he spots a stranger, a Russian agent ( Karl Urban) in the small town.

Bourne is the main suspect in the death of two field CIA agents. Russian mob is accusing Bourne for the murder they committed and they are in India to kill him. CIA agent Pamela Landy ( Joan Allen) and her boss Ward Abbott (Brian Cox) together with the former treadstone secretary Nicky (Julia Stiles) have already started working on this case. They have found Bourne's fingerprints at the murder scene. In the first chase in Goa, after Jason and Marie get shot, their car plunge into the river. Bourne tries to revive Marie who was driving, but couldn't. He escapes from death but again he is all alone. He is constantly chased from India to Naples, Paris, Amsterdam and Moscow. He survives one ambush after another, crashing cars, killing assailants using his unusual skills and martial arts. The chase sequence becomes more and more intricate and impressive as the movie progresses, finally ending up in the streets of Moscow. Clever Bourne always slips out of dangerous hands.

The spy maestro Robert Ludlum has created an interesting character in Bourne, who is smarter and savvier than James Bond in certain ways. This film is more action filled and tense than the first one. Damon is excellent as Bourne. He has very well matured into that role. Though he is trained as one, he doesn't have the callousness of a killer. His character is rational and complex with excellent ability to make split second decisions. The character could become a big hero and live for ever like James Bond. Fight scenes are very good. The action sequences are terrific like the high speed car chase through a tunnel which is exceptional. The way it ends, it has a lot of room for another sequel and a new chapter in Bourne's life. It is a good movie for grown ups. Fans of the 1st film will definitely love this one. It is one of the best spy movies.

We rate this movie Good.
