It is a romantic comedy that deals with the interracial romance between a a
well educated African American woman and a white guy.
Kenya McQueen(Sanaa Latham) is a well placed African American woman.She is
from a good family and she has a nice job as a manager at a prestigious LOs
Angeles accounting firm.She is very successful at work,she has a nice home and
all her friends are professionals too.She had been in search of an ideal
black man (IBM) to get marry but she found it extremely difficult to find
a guy that meets her criteria.
One of Kenya's friend sets her up with blind date with a landscape
architect,and she accepts it.To her surprise her date Brian(Simon Baker)
happens to be a white guy. After meeting him,she felt very uncomfortable
in his company and Brian realized her difficulty and let her go
right after they met.Then she bumps into him at a party and realized
that he is a smart landscape architect.Promptly,Kenya hires him
to develope a backyard garden.
As Kenya
came to know more about Brian,she realized that he is a gentleman
with lot of good qualities.Soon,Kenya falls for him but she has to face
the problems related to the interracial relationship.Her family
is totaly unhappy about this affair and Kenya starts to have second

Director Sanaa Hamri created a nice feature debut with an interesting
tale.The Moroccan born director skillfully conveys the delights and
challenges of an interracial romance. She sends a strong message
that" the sentimental love is colorblind".
Talented actress Sanaa Latham presents a good performance as Kenya.She
very well portray the difficulties and vulnerabilities of the
character Kenya.Simon Baker as Brian did justice to his role.
There is good chemistry between Latham and Baker.
Interracial relationship is the main theme of the film.The film has
a different out look from the traditional theme by characterizing
a well educated balck family and a white guy with nominal qualifications.Film
has many implied sexual encounters and passionate groping as well
as crude language but as an entertainer it is emotionally satisfying.The
screenplay by Kriss Turnel is good.
