It is a family comedy that deals with a dysfunctional family that was
forced to take a vacation on a recreational vehicle, driving from Los
Angeles to Colorado.
Robin Williams plays Bob Munro, an executive with a soda company in Los
Angeles. His boss asked him to cancel his Hawaiian vacation in order to
attend an important business meeting in Colorado. Bob has two kids,15
year old daughter Cassie (Joanna "jojo" Levesque) and 12 year old
son Carl (Josh Hutcherson) and a spoiled wife Jamie (Cherry Hines).
Bob is a workaholic who spends a lot of time with his job.
Now, Bob is in a dilemma. He is afraid to tell his family that they cannot
take their vacation to Hawaii because he will be the bad guy for messing
up the family vacation plan. Bob came up with a clever idea for a family
vacation on a RV trip from Los Angeles to Colarado, so that the family
can have some quality time together plus he can attend his business meeting
as well. He convinced the family about the trip and rented a recreation
vehicle and they all took off on a road trip.
As Bob was not an experienced RV driver or a good mechanic, the family
road trip began to be filled with problems pretty soon. More over, there
were arguments between the siblings as well as the husband and wife. But
in spite of everything, Bob managed to spend some quality time with his
family. Find out more about this family comedy.

Director Barry Sonnenfeld
tries his best to narrate a funny tale about a dysfunctional family from
Southern California. He delivers a message to the world that it is important
to spend some quality time with your family, in which ever way possible.
He successfully fills the film with some great laughs and touching moments.
But he fails to completely utilize the talents of the gifted comedian
actor Robin Williams.
Talented actor Robin Williams as Bob presents a mediocre performance.
Cherry Hines as his wife Jamie is okay. But there is not much chemistry
between Williams and Hines.
Even though this travel comedy has many funny moments, the story is absolutely
predictable. As a family comedy it is good but not great. If you are a
fan of Robin Williams, you might enjoy this film better.
